Nicholas Keeler of Authentique Wine Cellars is one of the most dynamic new producers coming out of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. A French wine barrel expert by trade, he expanded his love and hobby of making wine in 2011 when he produced his first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The focus now is mostly on single vineyard wines to show off the true character of the region. This is a poised, moderately endowed Chardonnay with expressive aromas of toasted brioche and spice fleshed out with honeydew and white flowers. The palate is more elegant and restrained than the nose suggests, giving way to appealing summer fruits and a lifted but expansive mouthfeel.
Robin says "Nicholas seeks out a more Burgundian styles in his wines and whilst are generally a bit richer than those found there, they still offer similar notes of candied lemon, brioche, and hazelnut. Poised but complete."
