Nicholas Keeler of Authentique Wine Cellars is one of the most dynamic new producers coming out of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. A French wine barrel expert by trade, he expanded his love and hobby of making wine in 2011 when he produced his first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The focus now is mostly on single vineyard wines to show off the true character of the region. A delicious surprise though its light pink colour should have given us all the hints we needed. A beauty from the start, this medium-bodied rosé opens with notes of white peach, watermelon, stone and citrus fruits.
Robin says "Pinot Gris is actually a slightly pink grape and has the name "gris" to show that it is tinted - neither white nor black but something in between. This refined rosé is produced from both direct press and skin contact for added flavour."
