Wine information
Benguela Cove is situated in the Walker Bay sub-region, just an hour from Cape Town International Airport. Poised on the edge of the Bot River Lagoon, the area is teeming with bird life and natural fauna and flora with the Atlantic Ocean gracing the horizon. The estate, which has 70-hectares of vines, was purchased by entrepreneur Penny Streeter OBE in 2013. The estate has been rewarded for its craftsmanship, led by experienced cellar master Johann Fourie. Their Backbone Sauvignon Blanc goes beyond Sauvignon's grassy notes into a realm of orchard fruits, melon and a touch of cucumber. A friendly, easy going wine that finishes fresh.

Robin says "This is a pretty Sauvignon that might really appeal to both Sauvignon fans and those prefer slightly more neutral wines like Pinot Grigio, but are seeking something a bit different."
