Carus Vini as it is today was created in the 1990s in the heart of Chianti Classico. Most of its vineyards were planted under the direction of the late Giacomo Tachis, the famous Italian oenologist collaborated on and launched Super Tuscans such as Sassicaia and Tignanello. Current owner is the charismatic and charming Guido Carissimo who purchased the estate in 2011. This is a refined, beautifully poised Chianti that offers a lovely sappy core of crunchy red cherries layered with some savoury, meaty notes. Appealing freshness.
Robin says "Chianti Classico is one of my "go to" Italian wines. I just love the balance of savoury favours and fruit as well as its moderate body that is neither too heavy nor too light. Guido's is a fine example that will tick all the boxes for lovers of traditional Chianti Classico that also seek out fruit."
