Domaine des Tilleuls Chardonnay Sélection Val de Loire IGP 2019
Founded in 1905, Domaine des Tilleuls is a family owned and operated winery dating back five generations. Today, Daniel, Evelyne, and their children Jérôme and Noémie Houssin, perpetuate this history and tradition through their shared passion for wine. Their vineyards are located on the western side of the Loire Valley, near the Atlantic Ocean, where cool maritime influences and a long growing season provide the optimal conditions to gently ripen their grapes. The schist-based soils allow excellent drainage and contribute a perceived minerality to their wines. Though this is Muscadet country, we really enjoy their varietal wines as they have character, freshness and good balance. Their Chardonnay opens up with a lifted and delicate nose of honeysuckle, crisp red and green apple and spice. A simple wine which nonetheless delivers a lot of pleasure.
Robin says "What I love about this Chardonnay is its directness and purity. Only stainless steel fermentation was used to highlight this variety's fresh orchard fruit and lemon character. Such a friendly wine that has appeal that can nicely accompany a range of lighter foods or be enjoyed on its own. "
