Bodega Familia Schroeder Alpataco Chardonnay 2019
£12.75
Bodega Familia Schroeder is the fruit of the effort of a family of entrepreneurs who made their dream come true. In 2001, Herman Heinz Teodoro Schroeder, the son of pioneering German immigrants in Patagonia, decided to invest in vineyards with his children. Patagonia is one of the most southerly wine growing regions in the world and characterised by its unique microclimate and cooler air that creates a more elegant style of New World wine. This gently oaked Chardonnay offers discreet aromas of citrus, orchard fruits and brioche. The well-integrated oak adds more in mouthfeel than in flavour enabling the wine's clean purity to shine through. Finishes with an appealing saline touch.
Robin says "The Alpataco range really embraces the cooler growing region of Patagonia. This sleek, poised Chardonnay might be viewed as "lean" by other New World examples, but those who like Chablis and other cool climates styles could easily feel at ease with this fresh, discreet wine."
