Bodegas Jalón is a small family run bodega that produces high quality wine from their own 10 hectares of vineyards within the Iregua Valley. The vineyards are certified organic and are located between 460 and 500 metres above sea level and are dominated by clay and sandstone soil. These two elements help to create excellent density and minerality in their wine. This Crianza is aged for 12 months in oak, which adds some refined structure to their fruit-forward style of Rioja. Cherries, dark fruits and some roasted spice dominate the nose and palate, finishing on appealing meaty notes. A cracking everyday Rioja that delivers notable fruit but with some depth.
