Buisson-Charles Bourgogne Chardonnay Hautes Coutures 2017
£30.00
Buisson-Charles is a brilliant producer in Meursault and under the radar perhaps in light of some of their exalted neighbours. Fourth generation, Catherine Buisson-Essa and her husband Patrick Essa, who is also the winemaker, hold the reigns. Analytical, philosophical and intuitive, Patrick meticulously vinifies each wine for it to express its greatest attributes. His Bourgogne Blanc comes from well-placed vineyards allowing for notable minerality and poise. This 2017 is expressive with notes citrus, pear and brioche with a round but lifted mouthfeel. An appealing and stylish Chardonnay.
Robin says "Winemaker Patrick Essa is so meticulous and demanding that his Bourgogne Blanc regularly tastes more expensive than it is. This is a beautiful 2017 offering the freshness of the vintage but by keeping yields low, Patrick was also able to harness notable depth and character. A beautiful Bourgogne."
