Buisson-Charles Bourgogne Pinot Noir Hautes Coutures 2017
£30.00
Buisson-Charles is a brilliant producer in Meursault, and under the radar perhaps in light of some of its its exalted neighbours. Fourth generation, Catherine Buisson-Essa and her husband Patrick Essa, who is also the winemaker, hold the reigns. Analytical, philosophical and intuitive, Patrick meticulously vinifies each wine for it to express its greatest attributes. This wine has notes of violets and sweet bramble fruits on the nose whilst the palate opens with black cherry and juicy ripe plum before finishing with some spice. This expressive Pinot has great acidity, a wonderful mouthfeel and is gratifyingly refreshing.
Robin says "Patrick Essa is one of the most meticulous Burgundy producers I know and his wines never fall short in terms of intensity. He is a magician at extracting the most flavour from his grapes whilst always keeping a natural freshness. Produced from 55 year-old-vines, this Bourgogne is truly impressive for its appellation."
