Corbon Brut d'Autrefois NV
£65.00
Champagne Corbon delights with this champagne which is produced in part via a solera system that was established in the 1980s. The result is a complex and layered Champagne that combines the best of both worlds…aged biscuity aromas and fresh fruit. A restrained nose that leads to a palate of toasted brioche, crème brûlée, candied lemon and lemongrass.
Robin says "Brut d'Autrefois is such an interesting Champagne. It is produced from what the Champenois call "cuvée perpetuelle" or "solera" as well as from fresh wine from a recent vintage. What happens in the Champagne's solera system is that each year, new wine is added to an oak cask enabling many older vintages to be blended together and aged. The resulting wine is creamy and toasty but the new vintage adds lots of fresh fruit."
