Denis Bouchacourt Pouilly-Fuissé "Feuille de Laurier" 2015
£23.00
To us, Denis Bouchacourt is exactly the sort of producer we love, a jovial but serious creator of moreish wines that are complex, profound and minerally driven. Denis has been rocking the limestone soils of Mâconnais since 2004. Denis's Cuvée Feuille de Laurier is a blend of all his Pouilly-Fuissé vineyards and is hence his largest cuvée, albeit still small compared to many. His 2015 beautifully exemplifies the freshness of the vintage with a notably mineral texture and notes of orchard fruit, citrus and gentle spice. Only a tickle of new oak is used to add complexity and roundness while keeping the purity intact.
Robin says "The classic 2015 vintage works well with this wine, creating a delicious blend of traditional white Burgundies flavours of hazelnut and lemon but while remaining lifted and fresh. This is particularly beautiful with seafood in cream sauces."
