Wine information

Patrick Brunet is at helm of this small hardworking family domaine. Originally created in 1970, the domaine was named after his father Robert. Patrick's Fleurie vines are comprised of 5 hectares and lie directly outside his front door. Many of the domaine's gnarled, characterful vines were planted in 1930 and 1935, and this age shows in his wines as they are expressive with appealing ripe fruit and notable layers. Morgon tends to be a bit more concentrated and compact than Fleurie and Patrick's 2020 does not disappoint. Brimming with dark fruits, damson plum, chocolate, spice and crushed graphite, its palate is dense but polished. An impressive wine that could easily impress Pinot Noir or Syrah fans. One for the cellar.

Robin says 'Côte de Py is one of Beaujolais' grandest vineyards and is renowned for producing more concentrated, complex wines that are some of the region's longest lived. Sadly, Patrick only has a small parcel of this vineyard, so when the wine is gone, it is gone!'
