Domaine des Tilleuls Sauvignon Sélection Val de Loire IGP 2020
£11.00
Founded in 1905, Domaine des Tilleuls is a family owned and operated winery dating back five generations. Today, Daniel, Evelyne, and their children Jérôme and Noémie Houssin, perpetuate this history and tradition through their shared passion for wine. Their vineyards are located on the western side of the Loire Valley, near the Atlantic Ocean, where cool maritime influences and a long growing season provide the optimal conditions to gently ripen their grapes. The schist-based soils allow excellent drainage and contribute a perceived minerality to their wines. Though this is Muscadet country, we really enjoy their varietal wines as they have character, freshness and good balance. Their 2020 Sauvignon has appealing notes of peach and nectarine that fold gently into a palate laced with lemongrass and greengages. A plump easygoing wine.
Robin says "Many Sauvignon Blancs from the Loire evoke the typical "cat pee on a gooseberry bush" tasting note. This Sauvignon is not one of those. Rather, it is brimming with flavours of succulent peach and underlying citrus tones. Winemaker Jérôme Houssin has a way of harnessing the ripeness of the variety while keeping it fresh and light. Nicely done. "

Really cheap
Love Loire wines, and this was really great. Fresh and floral.
