Wine information

Fratelli Barba is originally an old, winegrowing family based in Abruzzo though with ancestral roots from Naples. For many years, they sold their grapes but in the 1950s, their philosophy changed and they decided to produce their own wines. Today, they farm over 27 hectares of vines and produce 9 different wines from 4 different indigenous varieties and one delicious olive oil. We love their wines' delicious upfront fruit appeal. Ample with sweet orchard fruits and subtle spice, this 2021 Pecorino was fermented in stainless steel tanks to keep its fruit freshness and tang.

Robin says 'Pecorino (not to be confused with the Italian sheep's milk cheese) is an indigenous variety native to Abruzzo and neighbouring Marche. Known for its vivacious acidity and pronounced body, it is a variety that is well worth seeking out and makes a delicious aperitivo or an accompaniment to a meal. '
