Created in 2009, Matthew Fritz is a joint venture between Matt Bonanno of BonAnno Vintners and Fritz Stuhlmuller. Their approach was simple: combine their collective experience in winemaking, contacts with grape growers and wineries in the North Coast and produce wines of incredible value since they both felt that California wines were becoming ever dearer. The Matthew Fritz wines are produced out of Healdsburg in Sonoma, with most of the grapes coming from Sonoma and Mendocino counties. Their goal is to produce wines that are authentic, clean and true to the varietal, which will not break the bank. And we could not agree more. Aromatic with notes of cut grass, cantaloupe, cucumber and lime, this fresh and light styled Sauvignon Blanc finishes fresh and bright.
RK Says "California wines have become progressively more "boutiquey" over the years with the pricetags to prove it, whilst lesser expensive wines often feel a bit generic. So it is refreshing when smaller winemakers fill the gap in between - more affordable wine with character. Their 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is a wine for Sauvignon fans that appreciate a more grassy, crisp touch.
