Montecappone La Breccia Sauvignon Blanc IGT 2017
£14.45
Montecappone has been described as “one of the greatest producers in Italy that few know” by some of the most renowned Italian wine palates in the business. Well, fortunately we do and we are seriously chuffed to offer them to our customers. It was love at first taste, we were instantly enthralled by their notable fruit concentration and just sheer “joie de vivre”. Gianluca Mirizzi is at the helm of their 54 hectares. In typical Italian fashion, this Sauvignon Blanc opens up with notable breath, offering notes of white peach, elderflower, pineapple and mineral notes. It finishes on creamy notes of crème brûlée.
Robin says "Sauvignon Blanc (or just "Sauvignon" which is what many Italians call it) can have such a different personality in northern Italy than those grown on French soil. They tend to be broad with slightly riper notes of nectarine and lemongrass so can actually appeal to those who do not like the grassier style. A style you can almost sink your teeth into!"
