Montecappone Vino e Visciole NV
Montecappone has been described as “one of the greatest producers in Italy that few know” by some of the most renowned Italian wine palates in the business. Well, fortunately we do and we are seriously chuffed to offer them to our customers. It was love at first taste, we were instantly enthralled by their notable fruit concentration and just sheer “joie de vivre”. Gianluca Mirizzi is at the helm of their 54 hectares. Vino e Visciole is a special sweet wine that is produced with local wild cherries and Montepulciano. The palate is absolutely lip smacking with sweet cherries, almonds and spice. Super juicy but with substance. This will rock your world!
Robin says "Vino e Visciole is one of the most unique "wines" we sell. Visciole cherries are gathered when mature during the first weeks of July. A dense and scented syrup is produced which is then added to Montepulciano grape juice when the harvest takes place. The two are then fermented together and fermentation is stopped, leaving some sweetness in the wine. The result is a delicious yet vinous dessert wine that is succulent, juicy yet fresh."
