Mt. Difficulty Wines Bannockburn 'Target' Riesling 2017
£19.00
Mt. Difficulty’s story started in 1990 when four owners of new planted vineyards joined forces in Bannockburn a historic gold-mining town in Central Otago. Upon a handshake they decided to produce wine under one label and Mt. Difficulty was born. The 1998 vintage was their first and over the years, they have grown. Today they are comprised of many vineyards spanning Central Otago, from Gibbston to Lowburn Valley, to Bendigo, with their home still under the mountain at Bannockburn. This delightful Riesling opens with a bouquet of bright orange blossom and ripe peach and apricot leading to zesty lime on the palate. Its broad texture and soft acidity create perfect harmony. A proper Riesling here folks!
Robin says "Mt. Difficulty's 'Target' Riesling is a truly delicious wine which should delight German Riesling fans. Produced in a Spätlese style, this poised and fresh wine exudes appealing fruit but also a lovely 'pain d'épice' character before finishing on subtle notes of archetypical petroleum. Its lighter alcohol makes it almost too easy to drink! A lovely drop."
