Padelletti Brunello di Montalcino 2012
The Padelletti family have lived in Montalcino for over 600 years. While many members left to become lawyers, engineers and university professors, some always came back to Montalcino to take care of their land, and to help defend the city from intruders during the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Alongside Biondi-Santi, they were amongst the first to plant what today is known as “Brunello”. They are a truly historic family! A youthful and tightly wound Brunello that exhibits notes of cassis, spice and graphite. Fine yet firm tannins paired with a fresh streak of acidity give this wine extra definition in this moderately ripe vintage.
Robin says "The 2012 vintage is one of power but also of flesh and at this youthful age at bit tightly wound. But from my experience, Padelletti's wines open up nicely by decanting, showing their innate and genuine personalities. A wine to be savoured."
