Philippe Glavier La Grâce d'Hakamiah Grand Cru Extra Brut NV
£47.00
Philippe and Véronique make some of the most stylish Blanc de Blancs Champagne we have ever tried. Even their labels are beautiful and are graced by playful and elegant cherubs. It might sound a bit frou frou, but it isn’t. They have 4.5 hectares with over 47 plots that have many different nuances of soil types and sun exposure which all contribute different attributes to their wines. This wine's base is from 2013 and its blend is comprised of 40% reserve wine, allowing both fresh and slightly evolved flavours. This Champagne opens up with delicate notes of brioche, fresh almonds and lemon peel. On the palate, it is notably fresh and poised, finishing on nuances of biscuit and salt caramel.
Robin says "Passionate about cherubs and guardian angels, Véronique Glavier named this cuvée after Hakamiah, her own guardian angel (based on her birthdate), who inspires honour and light within all of us. As a blend of their luminous Chardonnay wines, she feels that the Hakamiah has a similar touch."
