Philippe Glavier Rubellite Céleste Rose Grand Cru NV
Philippe and Véronique make some of the most stylish Blanc de Blancs Champagne we have ever tried. Even their labels are beautiful and are graced by playful and elegant cherubs. It might sound a bit frou frou, but it isn’t. They have 4.5 hectares with over 47 plots that have many different nuances of soil types and sun exposure which all contribute different attributes to their wines. This is an Extra Brut Champagne rosé with a lot of personality. Fruit forward, but with good depth and structure. The Pinot brings vibrancy and red fruit to this mineral-driven and mouthfilling Champagne. A real moreish wine. Bravo!
Robin says "The Glaviers started producing this wine at the request of some of their importers who were looking for a fruit-driven but vinous wine that was a little fleshier than their linear and "lighter to the touch" Idylle Céleste Rosé. They have succeeded beautifully by adding 40% Grand Cru Pinot Noir from Ambonnay. A delicious Champagne that has personality and a bit of zest."
