Vincent Ledy Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Les Porêts St Georges 2014
£75.00
Vincent is an upcoming star on the Burgundian winemaking scene. What might be even more impressive than his wines’ overall quality is that he is a true self-made vigneron. He has done everything himself, step-by-step, vineyard-by-vineyard, wine-by-wine. What an artisan! Vincent produces two cuvées of this wine – this wine and a separate one with only the oldest vines of the vineyard. We love both of them, though his straight Porets St. Georges is more open and will require less cellaring. Brimming with juicy Morello cherries, roasted coffee beans and chocolate, its velvety tannins easily enrobe the palate while its sappy freshness leaves you wanting more.
Robin says "Vincent's Porets St Georges is just delicious. It is his only Premier Cru for the moment (along with his tiny old vine cuvée) and he handles it with care. He is not a fan of new oak so his wines often need a bit of decanting to properly open up. But they shine bright when they do."
