Vincent Ledy Savigny-lès-Beaune 2015
£36.50
Vincent is an upcoming star on the Burgundian winemaking scene. What might be even more impressive than his wines’ overall quality is that he is a true self-made vigneron. He has done everything himself, step-by-step, vineyard-by-vineyard, wine-by-wine. What an artisan! Produced from vines planted in 1939, this impressive Savigny-lès-Beaune truly delivers. Juicy with notes of sweet red cherries, strawberries and a whiff of spice, this nicely delineated wine is wonderfully appealing yet still has a sculpted feel to it giving it elegance and refinement.
Robin says "Savigny-lès-Beaune is one of my favourite villages in the Côte d'Or. It is moderately lively, has its own beautiful château right in its core and produces some of the prettiest wines. Vincent's wine has lots of freshness with some crunchy but sweet fruits and a gentle mineral finish."
